To be fair, science has not proven or disproven free will. And if you look at neuroscientific experiments in the past year, there is more scientific evidence in favor of free will (or rather "free don't") than there is against it. Just because we have the power to influence others doesn't negate free will. After all, influence isn't about stripping others of their free will, but about information exchange that incites free will to act. The mind is a mystery and we're free to believe in what we want, but I find that believing in free will is much more empowering to me.
