Lanie actually says that when we visualize we are engaging the third eye. That is where we visualize from so according to that your third eye is going to automatically be involved. You don't have to put your focus there if it doesn't feel right for you. I feel like heart and emotional energy is what is most powerful in anything we are trying to manifest. She states many times that it is the emotions that strengthen the connection and visualization. 

I think it is ultimately going with what creates the most feeling within you and what feels right for you.
