It Is Starting To Work

Just wanted to give a quick update on my situation. It has been 8 days since he decided to call it quits. I have tried to keep myself busy as much as possible and also using the techniques as well as others. I also started the NC period as well. Today, I not only received one, but two text messages from him. The first one was a general check-in and see how I was doing and the second was asking me a question regarding something going on in my life (ie, going to therapy). I haven't responded back because I am still respecting his wishes and need for space and to also give more time for him to eliminate all the negative feelings and associations he had with me and our relationship. Plus, the NC rule is still in effect. Any suggestions or advice from anyone on what I should do from here? I am torn because I would still like to follow the advice of NC but I now have worries (which are negative and I should eliminate) that if I don't respond, I may not hear from him again or he may actually move on. Don't want to entertain those thoughts but there is always that possibility.

Continue the NC.
He won't move on during NC.
He won't move on if you keep doing PW.
You will hear from him again. We all hear from our exes again.
They definitely think about us even if they do not reach out.

Re: It Is Starting To Work

Thank you so much for your advice. I know he used to get so upset and frustrated when I would ignore him because of an argument or a fight and I just don't want to repeat the same mistakes again.
