I don't know about as a collective, because some people are endlessly optimistic despite reality. And, manifesting your ex back is the core purpose of PW and BWD. It's just that after long periods of time, the manifestations don't materialize for some.
For others who have success, it appears their situations weren't as difficult or complicated to begin with, and a key seems to be the POI's willingness. Simply speaking, if he wants to come back, he will...with or without PW or BWD. I believe other important aspects in terms of success are how much connective substance there was in the relationship when it was active and if any contact and communication continues while manifesting.
If the desired visualizations go against his will; if there isn't much of a pre-existing connection; and if there isn't some type of on-going exposure or contact, I suspect this contributes greatly to delays.
Follow your heart as long as you want, but for as long (and as well) as I've done Lanie's techniques of PW and BWD, to not have results is ridiculous.
I'm starting to think if there isn't discernible movement or evidence of change within (3) months, it's time to attract someone else.
The thing is, I have always been open to attracting new love and have kept an open mind for the universe to send someone new. Yet, here I am, without my POI or anyone else who tickles my fancy.
